Super cute restaurant with nice vibes for lunch. Food was 10/10. We got the bang bang shrimp, jalapeno popper burger and fish and chips. Everything was so flavorful. Also whoever wrote the menu food descriptions are talented because everything sounded so good. The waitress was also really nice. Would come here to eat if I visited again!
This place has such personality! Even if going for the aesthetic alone is enough, the brick floors, heavy wooden tables, split levels just so interesting and fun place to dine. And the food doesn’t miss! I love that they cater to a local menu offering classic American dishes and plentiful seafood options. I got the crab cake sandwich which hit the right amount of crab, some places skimp to save a buck and some overload to prove a point, this establishment hits the sweet spot for texture and flavor. I went with my mother while we spent the day browsing the cute stores nearby but would have loved to be brought here for a first date as well. The open layout provides enough people watching and conversation starters to keep the experience lively without being too loud.
Our first time here. I worry sometimes about a place that could be an overpriced tourist trap. It was not overpriced and we had a great meal. My wife ordered a turkey sandwich which had enough turkey to feed the two of us. She also ordered a salad that was obviously very freshly chopped. I usually don't eat red meat, but I decided to treat myself to a burger. The patty was thick and perfectly cooked, it had ample shredded lettuce (I love shredded lettuce) and tomatoes, and it came on a brioche bun. A perfect burger. I avoided getting fries and went for the jasmine rice. Who the hell serves jasmine rice??? It was cooked perfect. Loved it. I also ordered one beer which was topped off to within one millimeter of the top of the glass. I was so stuffed from the food that my wife had to help me finish the beer (Yuengling). The vibe is great. Seating inside and out (we wanted the ac inside). The staff are wonderful. I highly recommend this place and we most likely will return here again.
Earlier today. We spent all of our time in Historic Smithville NJ. Fred and Ethel's was incredible. We didn't think about having too much, but thought wrong lol. The Mahi Fish Tacos with lettuce and Corn Salsa was amazing and the Crab Cake was perfectly prepared. The Tacos and Crab Cake were so light that we were able to fish everything 😋
The food was phenomenal! I had the meatloaf & it didn't disappoint. The drinks were spot on. Some places are too heavy handed with the alcohol in mixed drinks but this was great. The location is in a small village of shops, very cute. Nice atmosphere. The service was great too. She checked on us often but not so much that it interrupted conversations. I can't wait to go back
